SWM Kickers Team Coaches Selection Policy

The SWM Director of Coaches (DOC) is responsible for the selection of coaches, subject to approval of the SWM Board of Directors. Coach selections will be based on demonstrated soccer coaching ability, experience, licensing, and the ability to instruct.

Coaches are required to have the appropriate license for the age group and level that they will be coaching.

Coaches for U9 to U19 age groups:

  • Must complete a USSF Grassroots course in the appropriate format (7v7, 9v9, or 11v11) based on the team’s age and level. Coaches have one season grace period to obtain grassroot certification.

Premier coaches for U15 to U18 MSPSP GL, P1, and P2:

  • Must have at least a “D” coaching license.  Coaches have a one-year grace period to either obtain or begin the process of obtaining the appropriate license.
