SWM Kickers Team Tryout & Registration Procedures (Premier, Select, Academy)
Premier Team Tryouts
Premier tryouts will be held on the first available date allowed by the state. After the tryouts, players will receive one of the following three letters:
1. Invitation to Join the Team – This letter extends an offer to the player to be part of the team.
2. Notification of Not Making the Team – This letter informs the player that they did not make the team, with the suggestion to attend an elite or select tryout, if available for their age group.
3. Invitation to a Supplemental Tryout – If additional evaluation is needed, the coach may invite the player to attend a supplemental tryout on a later date.
Premier Roster Acceptance and Registration
Players who are invited to join the team will receive an email by the end of the tryout day. The email will include instructions on how to accept or decline their roster spot, with a response required within 24 hours. Players who accept their spot will then proceed with the registration process, which includes two steps:
1. Submit Payment – Players must either pay in full or select a payment plan and update their player photo.
2. Sign MSPSP Player Contract – Players are required to sign the MSPSP player contract via SportsForms and submit their age verification document.
Registration should be completed within 72 hours.
Select Team Tryouts and Registration Process
Select Team tryouts will take place on the first day allowed by MSYSA, as well as the following Monday. After the tryouts, coaches will select their teams and submit the rosters to the registrar no later than Tuesday. Players will be notified of their placement on Wednesday via email. The email will include an invitation to join the team, and players must accept or decline the offer within 24 hours.
Players who accept their spot will proceed with the registration process, which includes:
- Payment – Either paying in full or selecting a payment plan.
- Updated Player Photo – Submitting a current photo.
- Age Verification Document – Uploading the required age verification document.
Registration should be completed within 72 hours.
Players who are not selected for a team will receive an email no later than Friday following the tryouts.
Academy Registration Process
Academy players can register for the SWM Academy Informational Meeting via the SWM Tryout Registration Program which opens in May. No tryout is required for the Academy team and players are not expected to attend the meeting with their parents. Signing up for this meeting gives players the first opportunity to be placed on the Academy roster.
Following the meeting, all players who registered will receive an invitation to accept their Academy Team roster spot. Players will have one week to accept their spot and complete the registration process before the Academy is opened to additional players.
Players who accept their spot will proceed with the registration process, which includes:
- Payment in full.
- Updated Player Photo – Submitting a current photo.
Age Verification Document – Uploading the required age verification document
